Common problems for Battery

HP 250 G5

I have never had any issues with the battery before but all of a sudden sometime April - Aug (the laptop was not used in this time) an update must have caused an issue with the battery.

With the battery in place and the charger connected the laptop tells me the Battery is fully charged at a 100%, however if I pull the charging cable out the laptop it dies and will not turn back on without the charging cable. If the battery is not in situ the laptop detects this and says no battery is detected and will run plugged into the mains.

I have tried updating the BIOS and running the battery check (which fails) but this has not worked.

Any other suggestions would be welcome?! It seams unlikely the battery would fail in this way so suddenly?!

Thanks

Hi,

If the battery check fails, I think the only solution is to install a new battery in the machine.

It is possible that the battery has completly failed.

Hope it helps,

David
