Hi everyone,

 

I want to upgrade the processor of my laptop (HP 15q-ds0015TU). It has an HP 84A6 motherboard. Presently it's running on i3-7020U and 12gb of RAM.

 

I want to upgrade the laptop with an i5/i7 processor. Can anyone share the list of i5/i7 processors which are compatible with HP 84A6 motherboard/HP 15q-ds0015TU? Also are there any other compatibility issues that I should be aware of if I upgrade the processor?

No, that is impossible because processor/CPU is soldered to its system board. You have to buy a whole new system board (if available) which contains

 

   (a) Motherboard,

   (b) CPU with integrated video,

   (c) Dedicated Video card (if applicable),

   (d) Operating system (you can't reuse old license). ...
