HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15-n088ca Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi Everyone,

I have a HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15-n088ca Notebook (Product #: F0Q62UA) that I would like to buy a docking station so I can run two monitors on it.

It was purchased back in 2013 so its quite old but still working quite well.

I suspect it will need a USB type docking station, however I am not sure what would be compatible with it these days since most are USB-C type docking stations

Here is a link to the product specifications HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15-n088ca Notebook Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Nick

If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only), you can use

Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable

Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

                     https://www.amazon.com.au/CableCreation-Adapter-Windows-Compatible-2560x1440/dp/B013G4CJM8

For more connectivity, please use

                    True Universal Docking Stations

Regards.

Hi Banhien,

Many thanks for replying to my question.

That looks like a hassle free option with the USB cable to support two monitors.

With the Universal Docking Station link I did a search based off type USB-A and located this docking station

Club 3D | USB Gen1 Type A Dual Display Docking Station (club-3d.com)

Do you know if this would be a good option?

Is there any special considerations to take into account when choosing a docking station for an older laptop?
