HP Pavilion G6 (B6G30EA)
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have laptop HP Pavilion G6,

CPU - i7-3820qm / the original CPU has been i3-2330m, but because of chipset HM76 I have uprgraded it to i7 3rd generation/

GPU - AMD HD 7670m - 2 GB

OS: Windows 7_64 bit

BIOS version F.27

My question is why the switchable graphics does not work. There is installed driver from HP site - version 8.933.3.4000 for both devices - Intel and AMD and it works properly. But when I start the game it never switch to AMD - why?

There is no yellow marker in device manager. But I found that the folder ATI Technologies is empty and also Catalyst control centre is missing. I can manage only Intel HD 4000 graphics options.

Could you plese help me in this case?

Thank you in advance.

Hello, is there any solution or some discussion on this forum regarding this problem? If yes, please send me the link.

( I am afraid that BIOS upgrade to F.27 should cause this issue.)

Thaks a lot.

Hi@NazarFedorych, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Apologize for the issue with the graphics. We understand its Switchable graphics on the notebook lets try a few troubleshooting steps to fix the issue.

Check for the BIOS Update?

Try using the AMD Auto detect Tool

Tried Adding the game to High performances in the AMD control panel?

Turn on Game Mode. Game Mode is a new feature in Windows 10 Update that improves gaming performance by limiting background processes and programs from using system resources while a game is running.

Press the Windows key and G to open the Game bar.

In the game bar, click Settings.

Click the check box next to the game title to enable Game Mode for that game.

Plug notebook PCs into an AC adapter to give the graphics card more power.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
