I noticed that that bottom cover was not sitting correctly at the front and I couldn't clip it back into place.
I realised the reason for this is because the battery has become swollen and pushed the cover out of place.
I've now taken the battery out of my laptop but the HP parts store doesn't recognise the battery and I'm struggling to get a replacement.
The battery has - YB06XL in the top left and it says to replace with hp spare 928372-855.
Googling this shows that I'm not alone in this situation. I've tried using the virtual agent but as I'm in the UK, it just redirects me to a US support agent which is no help at all!
What are my options here? I need this back up and running.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help
I hear you, navigation can sometimes feel off-putting especially when all we want is immediacy. If you are having trouble navigating via the contact HP options, generally it is because either your product is Out of Warranty or you are trying to get support beyond the business hours and our business hours falls between 8am to 6pm EST. We also have an option to contact us via Facebook and Twitter in wake of exigency.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

That reply really hasn't helped. I have a laptop that's 3 years old with a battery that's swollen so much it pushed the cover off and deformed the case.
Everytime i try to speak to someone, the virtual agent directs me to the USA instead of the UK. I raised this as am issue and I've not heard back from anyone about my problem. The laptop was in warranty before I raised this and now it's showing as expired.
I am not at all impressed with this.
