Hi Everyone, I have an HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15-cn100 purchased in 2019. The center of the keyboard/chassis has recently started bulging, and I guess the internal lithium-ion battery is swelling. The laptop is out of warranty. Can you tell me whether HP can provide a battery replacement or repair, and what the cost would be? Thank you!

Hi:

 

Yes, from what you wrote the battery seems to be swelling and beginning to place stress on the notebook's components.

 

The replacement battery part number and description is:

 

L09281-855   ASSY-BATT 3C 52Wh 4.55Ah LI LK03052XL-PR

 

HP does not sell the battery you need, so the only suggestion I can offer would be to do a search on Amazon or eBay by the HP L09281-855 battery part number and find a compatible aftermarket battery that references the HP part number.

 

Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the battery removal and replacement procedure.

If you don't want to replace the battery yourself, you will have to take the notebook into a local PC repair shop for a battery replacement estimate.
