Hi @Jabran_Adeel,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing issues with updating the Synaptics touchpad driver on your HP 15-Bs017nx laptop, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem. Try the following solutions.
- Official HP Support: Visit the official HP support website and navigate to the "Drivers and Downloads" section. Enter your laptop model number, in this case, HP 15-Bs017nx, and select your operating system. Look for the Synaptics touchpad driver specifically designed for your laptop model and download it from the website. Install the driver following the provided instructions.
- Windows Update: Windows Update can sometimes provide updated drivers for your devices. Go to your computer's "Settings" and search for "Windows Update." Click on "Check for updates" and let Windows scan for any available updates, including drivers. If a Synaptics touchpad driver update is found, download and install it.
- Device Manager: Open the Device Manager on your computer by right-clicking on the Start menu and selecting "Device Manager" from the list. Expand the "Mice and other pointing devices" category, right-click on the Synaptics touchpad, and select "Update driver." Choose the option to search for drivers automatically. Windows will attempt to find and install the latest driver for your touchpad.
- Manual Driver Installation: If the previous methods didn't work, you can manually install the Synaptics touchpad driver. Visit the Synaptics website (www.synaptics.com) and look for the driver section. Search for the appropriate driver for your touchpad model and download it. Then, go to the Device Manager again, right-click on the Synaptics touchpad, select "Update driver," and choose the option to install it manually. Browse to the location where you saved the downloaded driver and follow the instructions to install it.
- Reinstall Touchpad Driver: If you have an existing Synaptics touchpad driver installed, try uninstalling it before updating. Open the Device Manager, right-click on the touchpad driver, and select "Uninstall device." Restart your computer and then proceed to download and install the latest driver from the official HP support website or the Synaptics website.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
