Request: I need a touchpad driver compatible with my device on windows 11. Fixing the Hdmi second screen turning on and off problem would be good as well, these issues might be related as someone else suggested.

I have been having problems with my laptop regarding my external monitor flickering and also the touch pad being faulty at random times. I found a solution from someone explaining how these issues are related however their solution hasn't worked well (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/HP-Laptop-Does-Not-Recognize-Monitor-...

I uninstalled the Synaptics Touchpad driver in device manager and checked delete software from this device.

I then went to the software and drivers HP link to reinstall the touchpad driver. When trying to reinstall I get the error message "The driver is not supported on this OS version (10.0.22631)". This means the only driver they offer for my device is compatible only with previous versions of windows, like windows 10.

Note* The Synaptics TPFHID Device has a yellow warning sign next to it in device manager; in properties it says: "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)".

Troubleshooting:

  • I ran a PC Health check for Windows 11 compatibility and it came back positive on everything.
  • I updated my BIOS to the most recent F.49 when trying to fix the HDMI second screen flickering issue (still unsolved).
  • I have up-to-date drivers for both integrated and dedicated graphics (Intel and Nvidia)
  • I have up-to-date windows.

Hi Fabio,

Thanks for your reply! I downloaded Driver easy and driver booster. Driver booster was not displaying any missing drivers for my Touchpad, however Driver easy identified the missing Synaptics Precision Touchpad driver 19.5.35.10. I spent some time trying to download the Synaptics Precision Touchpad driver 19.5.35.106 online however it wasn't working. In the end I started the free 7 day trial of Driver easy, it downloaded 28 drivers including the one I needed... I only meant to click the one.. anyway hoping that doesn't lead to other issues. This fixed my touchpad problem! Thanks.

Now, I still have another problem with the HDMI port. I suspect it is damaged. Seems to be happening to other people. The screen works for a while and then starts going on and off randomly quite frequently. at the moment, I am using a Hdmi adapter instead which is connected to the USB-c port, this works fine. Any ideas?

Thanks again mate,

Ben

Hello @2222ben

I'm glad we fixed it!!

Regarding HDMI, I believe it can really be something physical, my friend.

Regards
