Common problems for Battery
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about: Battery Reports, Hold a charge, Test and Calibrating Battery . Check out this link: Is your notebook plugged in and not charging?

HP Pavilion 13 Laptop PC 13-bb1000 (436R0AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Original battery failed. Ordered replacement that was installed by Best Buy. When I tried to calibrate the battery, the system would freeze. Holding the power button for 15 seconds, it would power off. It would not power back on. Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, and it will function once again. I have tried to run the diagnostics. If the power supply is connected, the same system freeze happens.

So, I think there's something else going on besides the battery? Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Take it back to Geek Squad. What you describe sounds like they installed a defective battery, which can happen.  It's also possible there is an issue with the motherboard charging circuitry. Frankly if that is the case they should have diagnosed that before charging you for a new battery.

Actually, they required that I acquire the battery and they installed. I guess it could be bad.
