Hi @PG07,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check for Physical Issues
- Inspect the Keyboard: Ensure the keyboard is properly connected and there are no physical obstructions or debris under the keys.
- Test another Keyboard: If possible, connect another keyboard to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the problem is with the keyboard or the system.
Update or Reinstall Drivers
- Update Drivers: Ensure that your keyboard and other system drivers are up to date. You can do this through the Device Manager in Windows.
- Open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start button and selecting "Device Manager."
- Expand the "Keyboards" section, right-click your keyboard, and select "Update driver."
- Reinstall Drivers: If updating doesn't help, try uninstalling and reinstalling the keyboard driver.
- In Device Manager, right-click your keyboard and select "Uninstall device."
- Restart your computer, and Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.
Run a System Scan
- Scan for Malware: Run a complete system scan using your antivirus software to check for any malware or viruses that might be causing the issue.
- Use Windows Security: If you don’t have third-party antivirus software, you can use Windows Security.
- Open Settings, select "Update & Security," then "Windows Security," and click "Virus & threat protection."
Perform System Maintenance
- Clear Temporary Files: Use the built-in Disk Cleanup tool to clear temporary files that might be causing your system to lag.
- Search for "Disk Cleanup" in the Start menu and follow the prompts.
- Check for System Updates: Ensure that your system is updated with the latest Windows updates.
- Go to Settings, select "Update & Security," and click "Check for updates."
- Keyboard Settings: Ensure there are no accessibility features enabled that might be affecting your typing experience.
- Open Settings, select "Ease of Access," then "Keyboard," and ensure settings like "Sticky Keys," "Toggle Keys," and "Filter Keys" are turned off.
I hope this helps.
