OMEN 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-c0000 (343L3AV)

Hello dear HP Community,

so I just received my Omen 16 a few days ago and over all, I'm pretty happy with the product - most games run on 144+fps on medium to high settings.

But I cannot figure out why Minecraft uses the onboard GPU and not the dedicated one (AMD 6600M).

When I open the task manager, it shows the main GPU as GPU 0 and the integrated one as GPU 1.

While playing Minecraft, GPU 0 is always using 0% and when I press f3, it also says I'm using the integrated GPU.

Here are the things I've tried:

- Going to system -> graphic -> choosing javaw.exe as an application -> assigning the "high performance" profile which says it will use the main GPU

- Trying different amd drivers

- Deactivating the integrated GPU in device manager -> Screen can no longer run on 144hz, only 64hz (weird, shouldn't it be the other way around?) plus Minecraft still won't use the dedicated GPU, it still says it uses the integrated one (even though I deactivated it)

I know that Minecraft is a CPU-heavy game, but I wanna play with shaders so some juicy GPU power would come in handy.

I've heard that AMD has problems with OpenGL applications, but my desktop PC (CPU: 5800x, GPU: 5700XT) can run Minecraft on the main GPU without problems.

I hope there is a solution for my problem! If you need any further specifications in order to help me, I will happily provide them!

Best regards,

Raoul Duke
