Hi @Enrico52,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP computer's camera is on, but not functioning correctly. Follow these troubleshooting steps:

Check Privacy Settings:

  • Make sure that the camera isn’t being blocked by a privacy cover.
  • Verify the camera privacy settings in your operating system to ensure apps have permission to access the camera.

Update Camera Driver:

  • Open the Device Manager by typing "Device Manager" in the taskbar search box.
  • Expand the "Cameras" or "Imaging devices" section.
  • Right-click on your camera and select "Update driver."

Restart Your Computer:

  • Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve issues with hardware not functioning correctly.

Test the Camera in Different Apps:

  • Use another application that requires a webcam to see if the issue persists across different programs.

Check Webcam Indicator Light:

  • Ensure the webcam light is on, indicating the camera is active. If it's not, the camera may not be turned on or be in use.

Run Windows Troubleshooter:

  • Type "Troubleshoot" in the search box and select "Troubleshoot settings."
  • Under "Find and fix other problems," select "Camera" and follow the on-screen instructions.

Review Anti-Virus and Privacy Software:

  • Ensure that your antivirus or privacy management software is not blocking access to your webcam.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
