The computer might not have a real fingerprint sensor -- the little box might be a simple same-color cover plate where a fingerprint sensor / reader would have need installed if the purchase included the fingerprint reader feature.

If your Device Manager does not list the Biometric section and a fingerprint reader,

then

Your computer does  not have fingerprint reader hardware.

No, missing hardware cannot be fixed with a driver.

Yes, the fingerprint sensor, if it is available in your country, can be added.

Look for the driver in category Software & Drivers

Switch the Operating System / version as needed.
