Hi @ANAZ1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing issues with your HP laptop's touchpad. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the problem:

Check Touchpad On/Off Status:

  • Ensure that the touchpad on/off light is not amber, which indicates that the touchpad is disabled. Double-tap to enable it.

Verify Device Manager:

  • Go to Device Manager and look under Mice and other pointing devices to see if the touchpad is listed.

Install Latest Touchpad Driver:

  • Ensure that you have the latest touchpad driver installed. If not, download and install the appropriate driver from HP's official website.

Adjust Touchpad Settings:

  • Open Control Panel and go to Mouse to adjust the touchpad settings. You can customize the touchpad's responsiveness and gestures here.

Run Diagnostics:

  • Use the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) tool to test the touchpad controller:
    • Press F2 during boot to enter diagnostics.
    • Select Component Tests > Mouse Test > Pointer Test & Drag and Drop Test.

      I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
