Hi @SWAPNILGADADE,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out. I'll be happy to help you with your HP notebook's touchpad. To better understand the issue, could you please share a little more information?

  • What is the exact model number of your HP notebook?
  • When did the touchpad stop working? Did it begin after a Windows update, BIOS update, or driver update, or did it stop unexpectedly?
  • Is the touchpad completely unresponsive, or are features such as tapping or scrolling still working?
  • Does an external USB mouse work normally?

In the meantime, please try these checks
:

  1. Restart the notebook and check if the touchpad responds after Windows loads.
  2. Make sure the touchpad hasn't been disabled accidentally.
    • On many HP notebooks, you can double-tap the upper-left corner of the touchpad to enable or disable it.
    • If your keyboard has a touchpad function key (often Fn + one of the function keys with a touchpad icon), press it once to ensure the touchpad is enabled.
  3. Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad and verify that the touchpad is turned on.
  4. Open Device Manager and expand Mice and other pointing devices or Human Interface Devices.
    • Check whether the touchpad is listed.
    • If you see a yellow warning icon, let me know the exact message.
  5. Open HP Support Assistant and check for any available touchpad, chipset, or BIOS updates for your notebook. Install any recommended updates and restart the PC.

If the touchpad is not listed in Device Manager or remains unresponsive after these steps, please let me know:

  • The exact notebook model.
  • Your Windows version (Windows 10 or Windows 11).
  • Whether the touchpad is missing from Device Manager or listed with an error.

With those details, I'll be happy to guide you with the next appropriate steps.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
