I’m using an HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G3, which currently has TPM 1.2 enabled. I need to upgrade to TPM 2.0, but I haven't been able to find the correct firmware update for this model.

Could you confirm:
1. Does this laptop officially support a TPM 2.0 upgrade?
2. If yes, where can I find the right firmware or update tool?
3. Are there any specific steps I should follow to ensure a successful upgrade?

@SHAHID0607,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

I assume you would like to upgrade to Windows 11, hence your question.

Unfortunately, the processors compatible with your HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G3 are not W11 eligible. Even if you could upgrade to TPM 2.0 (you can't), that wouldn't make it W11 eligible.

However, there are a number of reliable and effective methods developed which would allow you to almost effortlessly upgrade your PC to Windows 11 in non-supported hardware, such as this easy-to-follow YouTube instructional video shows: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSrmhhigEhY&t=332s&ab_channel=Tips2Fix.

In the off-chance you don't like W11, you have 10 days to roll back to Windows 10. After 10 days, unless you follow the steps outlined in this instructional video, you may need to do a fresh install of Windows 10. Either way, this video will show you what to do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2v9_-4JCh_U&ab_channel=Tips2Fix.

Kind Regards,
