Thanks Paul! Wow that was originally put out by HP in 2017 so was obviously a 'thing' even back then.
I'm hoping to get access to a 840 G3 ex-corporate lease laptop which has a TPM 1.2 which it notes in the spec is upgradeable to TPM 2.0. Keen to do this upgrade to ready for Win 11 even though the processor is 6th Gen Intel and will not be supported by MS.
Cheers!

You're very welcome.
I came across this article the other day...a ray of hope...
Microsoft leaves a loophole for those wanting to run Windows 11 on 'unsupported' hardware | ZDNet

Thanks for that reference which I am aware of.
I am enrolled in the Win 11 Insider Program (Beta) and find it is very stable but my main concern is that MS are so far saying that Intel Gen 7 and below will almost all be 'unsupported' and not receive Windows and Security Updates.
I also have 2 x Elitebook 840 G4 Laptops (Gen 7 Intel) which meet all MS criteria for upgrade but for the processor not being supported. Enough to break your heart - looks like I will remain with Win 10 (at least on my main machine) until 2025 when it will be old enough to retire.
Thank you for your help.
