I have 2 older ZBook Business laptops.   Neither is on the Windows 11 supported list but I still want to see the TPM setting--as to whether TPM 1.1 is even enabled or not.

One is a HP ZBook 15 G2 Mobile Workstation and the other a HP ZBook 15 Mobile Workstation.    When I go into the BIOS, both have basically the same settings and I updated the BIOS to the latest version of each today and it didn't really change what I see.

In the BIOS, if I go to Security, I see:

"Set Security Level" and there are 3 options under a choice called "TPM Embedded Security": Change, View, Hide.   Both laptops have it set to View.   I really don't even understand what "Change" means in this menu but lots of other settings under Set Security Level have these same 3 choices.   If I select "TPM Embedded Security" it simply lets me pick between the 3 Change, View, Hide but have no idea what happens based on these.   I'm guessing this selection either controls being able to view or change TPM settings somewhere else OR it's actually doing it itself (but not sure what change means then).

There under Security, there's also

"TPM Embedded Security" but it's not even selectable.   It's simply grayed out and going up and down in the choices simply skips it.     On at least one of the machines, I selected Change it that Set Secuirty Level hoping this would enable this option but it didn't.  Even rebooted and came back in and it still wasn't selectable.

Am trying to see if I even have any TPM enabled..even 1.1 which I think this machine supports, but have no idea where to find it.  Would think it would be something under this Security but I either have the Change/View/Hide or something that I can't figure out how to enable....

Any assistance appreciated.    Or even a description of what this Change/View/Hide means or is supposed to do.   Or how to get the other item selectable.

Looking at page 27, 2nd item on the document below, it shows that the TPM security device is Available or Hidden.

pdf_12904670_en-US-1.pdf

If you want to see the TPM 1.2 security device in the Device manager under a Security devices category, the BIOS setting has to be on 'Available.'

If you are interested in running W11 on your PC's you can, but you have to use a workaround that bypasses the W11 hardware checks so you can do that.

I found that the information in this video is the easiest way to do an in-place upgrade from W10>W11 in my opinion.

Strange as I don't see anything like that in the BIOS and that's what I was looking for.  Searched the pdf you linked for "change" and doesn't talk about any menu with "Change, View, Hide"  settings.   I expected something to say TPM enabled or disabled OR available, hidden as you mention but don't see anything like that in either BIOS of these machines.    I suspected that maybe Change and View enabled some kind of MENU item where you could either modify the setting or just view it, but the other BIOS setting  where I expected to see the value doesn't seem to let me select it.   It's there but "grayed out" and skips it as I tab through the option screens.   Perhaps there's something else to enable it, and thought maybe this other one  with either "Change or View" was what did it but didn't see to work.      Maybe there's some other "admin" option I have to turn on but it sure isn't intuitive as to what it might be.
