HP ENVY x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-eu0000 (267R8AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

When i use my new laptop as a tablet, like folding 2 pieces together, i can't wake it up after screen goes black due to 2 minutes of inactivity or so. I've already searched this forum and found that it is a design flaw and nobody can wake up this laptop with any button including power button when it is in a tablet mode. Can you confirm this design flaw is still present and can not be fixed via any software update or bios upgrade??

And if so, why are you still selling and making products with this sort of hardware issues after dozens of complaints from users who bought previous versions of this laptop  in 2020 - 2021 time period???

Hi@whalesplain,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing tablet mode issues with the HP ENVY X360 2-In-1 Laptop PC. I apologize for Inconvenience. Going forward, we are going to take steps to ensure that this situation does not happen again.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
  • Turn on Fast Startup is via the Control Panel's power settings.
  1. Press Win + R to open Run.
  2. Type control and click OK to open the Control Panel.
  3. Go to System and Security and then click on Power Options.
  4. In the left pane, click on Choose what the power buttons do.
  5. Next, click the Change settings that are currently unavailable link.
  6. Under the Shutdown settings section, check the Turn on fast startup (recommended) option to turn on the feature.
  7. Uncheck the Turn on fast startup option to turn it off.
  8. Click Save changes to apply the changes.

If issue still persist then you can try continue to restore a computer back to the factory default, which will isolate whether it’s a software or hardware issue.

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Same problem here. The only solution I found was plugging in a USB keyboard or mouse and using them or typing on a paired bluetooth keyboard.
