Chrome OS

Hello, I've been using HP Chromebook x360  for a couple months and  like it so far.

One thing bothers me is that tap-to click is too sensitive sometimes,  it clicks even though I don't tap.

Unlike Windows, Chrome OS doesn't have option for sensitivity control on tapping.

Is there any way to fix this?

@ATK-138 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the Tap-to Click is too sensitive on HP Chromebook x360.

Let's try this method:
Type chrome://flags/#ash-debug-shortcuts in the address bar of the web browser and press Enter. Enable/Disable the option Debugging keyboard shortcuts, then restart your Chromebook. Press the Search + Shift + P keys at the same time to toggle the touchpad On or Off.

And, also I've found YouTube video showing  How To Disable the Touchpad on a Chromebook

Hello Praveen 196,

Thank you very much for your reply.

I know I can turn off "Tap-to- Click" at Chrome OS Device Setting, I would turn it off whenever I use this Chromebook for important task. But I just wish I could adjust tapping sensitivity just like Windows.

If you have any tips to do so, please let me know.

By the way, this unwanted tap-to-click (I would call it Ghost Tapping ) happens very randomly,  as if touch pad is sensing heat from my floating finger.

Thanks for your help.

@ATK-138

I understand your concerns.

In that case, I would suggets you conatct our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.

Have a nice day!!
