Hello, faced with the problem of terrible overheating of the device, when starting and idle, the laptop is heated more than 60 degrees, the laptop was replaced with the original fan and replaced with thermal paste, the problem is not gone, please help with this problem. Core i5 2450m processor model, GeForce GT 630m discrete video card Video memory capacity 1 GB.

Does this issue occur only while using a specific application or while playing games/videos?

 

Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

 

Make sure the BIOS and all the required software is up to date on the computer.

Install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant. 
  2. Check for updates. 
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.  

Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.

 

Check for any pending windows updates.

 

Also, perform the steps mentioned in Reducing Heat Inside the Laptop to Prevent Overheating

 

If the issue persists, let us run a test on the hardware components of the PC

  1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
  2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
  3. Perform System Test > Extensive test. Share the result on your next post.

All drivers and the latest BIOS version are installed, as well as the current version of Windows, there are no errors. I read that such a problem with all laptops of this model, whether it is possible to put the processor with a smaller TDP, if so, you can list the processors that can be put.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
