Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This mahine is getting slow and I want to check the RAM. The BOIS check at startup does not have the hardware check listed. I just did a BIOS upgrade today.

The software needs to be installed to a special partition so the full range of tests is available in the F2 preboot environment. Otherwise I think all you see is a hard drive test which is hard coded into the CMOS chip.

Download and install this:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp91001-91500/sp91493.exe

However, memtest86 is actually a better memory tester.

The number you posted in the title does not return any results. To have the full diagnostics at startup you need to have the UEFI diagnostics installed assuming your machine is an original Windows 8 or higher so it can handle UEFI. If not there are very good 3rd party memory testers you can use. memtest86 is a little Linux program you put on a bootable thumb drive and it will scan your memory very thoroughly and tell you if there are problems.

So we need the model or product number, please

Thanks Huff. The number posted is a model number of the laptop and I have 10 native to the machine. Your lead should get me out of the woods.

It a number but its not the model number. Try googling it and only your post comes up.

Hey Huff - the product # is W2M75UA#ABA

Sorry about the confusion on my part. I am a bit disappointed that the test is not in the BIOS. I wonder why it is not there?

Thanks for the guidance to the F2 reboot. I had installed that software previously band was wondering why it didn't show up.

Hey Huff - loaded and tested. The hardware checks out so I have to look elsewhere for my jerky video replays.

Thanks. You were a huge help.
