Hi @Priya248001
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
If your HP Spectre’s charger port is not functioning, follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Check the Charger and Cable:
- Ensure the charger is functioning by testing it with another compatible HP device, if available.
- Check the cable for any damage, fraying, or bent pins. Replace the cable if necessary.
Inspect the Port:
- Look inside the charging port for dust, dirt, or debris that might block the connection.
- Use a can of compressed air to gently clean the port or a soft brush to remove any obstruction.
Try Alternative Power Outlet:
- Plug the charger into a different power outlet to rule out issues with the electrical source.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off your laptop, disconnect any peripherals, and remove the charger.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
Battery and Charger Check:
- If your model supports a detachable battery, remove it, and inspect it for any physical damage.
- Reinsert the battery securely and attempt charging again.
Inspect Device for Physical Damage:
- Check your laptop for any signs of damage around the charging port area that might affect connectivity.
Update BIOS and Drivers:
- Visit the HP Support website to check for any BIOS updates or driver updates that might affect charging functionality.
- Download and install any relevant updates.
Test with HP Hardware Diagnostics:
- Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly to enter HP Hardware Diagnostics.
- Run diagnostics tests to determine if there are any hardware issues with the charging system.
