I have an HP Spectre x360 16 inch 2-in-1 laptop. The camera shutter button is on. When I am trying to turn it off and use the camera, it is not getting off and is always on.
Can anybody help with this issue, please?

Hi @Assadi ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the camera shutter on your HP Spectre x360 16-inch laptop is not turning off and remains on, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Check Camera Privacy Settings:
- Open the Windows Settings menu by pressing Win + I.
- Go to "Privacy" and select "Camera" from the left pane.
- Ensure that the "Camera access for this device" is turned on.
- Scroll down to "Choose which Microsoft Store apps can access your camera" and make sure the apps you want to use the camera with have camera access enabled.
Check Camera App Permissions:
- If you are using a specific camera app, check its settings for camera permissions. Ensure that the app has the necessary permissions to access the camera.
Update Camera Drivers:
- Go to the Device Manager (you can search for it in the Start menu).
- Locate the "Imaging devices" category.
- Right-click on your camera and select "Update driver."
- Choose to search for updated driver software automatically.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Ensure that your Windows 11 operating system is up to date.
- Open Windows Update by pressing Win + I, go to "Windows Update," and click on "Check for updates."
Restart Your Laptop:
- Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve hardware and software glitches. Restart your laptop and check if the issue persists.
Run Windows Troubleshooter:
- Open the Settings menu (Win + I), go to "Privacy," and select "Troubleshoot" under the Camera section.
- Run the troubleshooter and follow any on-screen instructions.
Check for Third-Party Software Conflicts:
- If you have third-party security software or camera-related applications, temporarily disable them and check if the issue persists.
Perform a System Restore:
- If the issue started recently, you can try restoring your system to a point before the problem occurred. Search for "Create a restore point" in the Start menu, go to the "System Protection" tab, and click on "System Restore."
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
