I've tried this, but it didn't work for me. I don't think it has something to do with power options. I've got Ubuntu installed in dual boot, and there too the CPU speed is stuck at 0.40 ghz and the fan is running at full speed all the time. At first, I thought it happened after the BIOS update, so I also tried to roll back and restore to the previous version, but it didn't work either. It has been more than 4 months and I've tried everything from internet forums. I ran diagnostics from BIOS but all components passed the tests.
