It seems to be the norm for these Laptops to have the hinges break on them does Hp know how much of a problem this is. I mean everyone can’t be wrong ,what is going to be done about this .This is the first lap to that I bought and I even extended my warranty but of course it expired one month before the incident. I just can’t believe that this happened I will almost never by a Hp computer again or product again .I spent my hard earned money on this and I didn’t get two years out of it.Both hinges are gone and I guess it can be used as a door stop . I’m waiting on my printer to give out. Thanks Hp.

Seems like they don't care much, since the plastic gives out after a year or two, enough time to get out of warranty. My broken one is sitting here like so much e-waste, I wish I could at least easily repair the hinge and screen to give the device to a student. I wound up replacing this one for my parents with a Lenovo, and picked up an inexpensive MSI for myself recently. Makes me sad, as HP laptops were my go-to for so many years. My old dv6t-7000 still runs great after 11 years! Good luck with your Envy!
