Microsoft Windows 11

Error message I keep getting and it caused my monitors not to connect anymore - USB device not recognized.   I have an hp laptop connected to a startech docking station with two monitors.  Last week I got this message -  The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it.  The monitors are working...I can manually turn them on and off.  I can see them scanning for the signal.  The USB cord also still allows the mouse and keyboard to work, so I am really puzzled as to why the monitors aren't recognized.  I wonder if it has anything to do with the recent update to Windows 11.  How do I fix it?
