Hello I have Hp Pavilion 15 notebook Pc. model number is - 15- n013AU . The letter 'C' is not working on the laptop. I am using the on screen keyboard to type the letter. It is getting annoying to open the on screen keyboard every time to type just one letter. There is no physical damage to the letter.. all the letters do work.
I have done a couple of trouble shooting steps to resolving it. but no success. I have updated to latest driver. It is standard Ps/2 keyboard. i have made some changes in the registry but no help. does not work on the CMD screen.
When i bought the laptop it was originally windows 8 then 8.1 then i upgraded to 10. this issue is pertaining from past 2 months. I am not sure a update is the reason. Please help as it is really bothering me.
Thanks

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics to complete functional test of the keyboard and identify any problems with the hardware.
NOTE: Bluetooth devices are not currently supported.
-
Download the latest version of HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
-
In Windows, search for and right-click HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows, and then select Run as administrator.
-
Click Component Tests, click Input Devices, and then select the Keyboard Test.
-
Click Run once to begin the test.
The test ends when you complete the tasks or after 3 minutes.
For more information about using the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows, go to HP PCs - Testing for Hardware Failures.

thank you for posting back.
Let's try this method:
- Click on Download button and install the latest HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
DOWNLOAD - After Installation, select Start from your PC, and then under All Apps, select HP Help and Support. Right-click HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows, select More, and then select Run as administrator.
- The app opens to the main menu. Click keyboard, mouse, touchpad, and clickpad issues.
- From the component test menu, select Processor test and start the test.
HP also recommends running an Extensive test, listed under System Test to determine any hardware failures. - If the hardware test Passed, it indicates there is no Hardware Failure. In case, the test Failed, it will display an error code.
- You can use the HP Failure ID decoder to find out more information about the error code and find further assistance or repair options based on your warranty.
And, also try using a Microsoft Troubleshooter solution is a .diagcab file, which may contain a single fix or multiple fixes for a single or a series of issues. Once downloaded, click to launch the troubleshooter.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

You can try performing a system factory recovery which will put the computer back to its original default state.
However, If its a hardware related issue then the system needs to be serviced.

Thank you for posting back.
Not to worry will try a few more methods,
Let's perform a system factory reset which will reinstall all the original factory shipped software and drivers.
By this way, we can isolate the failure. If its a hardware related issue with the keyboard then the computer needs to be serviced.
