Chapter 5 page 35 of the manual shows a removable module. However, table 5-3 lists the maximum size of a RAM module to be 8 GB

Since that model notebook has an AMD Ryzen 5 7520U processor and comes with 8 GB of LPDDR5-5500 MT/s (onboard) memory, LPDDR5 memory is an integral part of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded.

You're looking at the service manual for the original model series where all the models in the series came with removable memory.

Then it looks like HP should provide a more accurate manual when one enters 17-cp2025dx model number.

Do you have a link to the correct model so HP can update their linking?

That would be nice, but HP doesn't release service manuals that way for their consumer class notebooks.

They issue one manual for the original model that comes out in a series which makes it very hard to figure out what upgrades you can do when the next model in the series comes out.

Sometimes the original manual indicates the PC comes with DDR4 memory but the newer models in the series come with DDR5 memory, so you may not even be able to rely on what memory the PC supports.

As you can see the motherboard comes pre-configured with 8 GB of memory.

If the memory was removable, there would be a separate memory part number and description for the memory chip installed.
