HP pavilion 14-bf081no
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Sundenly when typing some keys were typing other letters and symbols. The return-key has switched to arrow down and Pg dn have switched to arrow left.  I have checked the language setting and deleted all other input languages besides danish and its set to QWERTY. I have also updated the drivers and I've lastly reset windows to factory settings, the problem is still there. I've read through all the different help topics regarding this issue, and nothing has helped. Does anyone know, what I can do to change it back??

Hey there! @ExpiredWaranty

Have you tried checking with an external keyboard does the issue persist?

Is there any Dust settled on the Notebook Keyboard?

Check if Scroll lock key is enabled on the PC if so please disable the scroll lock key.

Try updating the BIOS and other drivers on the PC to the latest version and check if it helps.

Also, restart your PC keep tapping the F11 key on your PC before the PC boots, you will see the recovery manager screen.

Open the command prompt from the list and check if all the keys on your PC are functioning correctly.

Try few steps recommended below.

Turn off the computer and then restart it.
Press the Esc key repeatedly to see if a startup menu opens.
If a setup menu does not open, the integrated keyboard hardware is not working. The integrated keyboard in the notebook should be serviced or replaced. To continue using the notebook, connect a USB-wired keyboard to a USB port and restart the computer.
If a setup menu opens, use the arrow keys to navigate the menus. If these keys are working in the startup menu, but then fail when Windows loads, the problems might be related to the keyboard software.
Restart the computer.
In Device Manager, uninstall and reinstall the keyboard software:
In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
Click View and select Show Hidden Devices.
Click the arrow next to Keyboards, right-click the keyboard device name, then select Uninstall to remove the device from Windows.
Continue removing device names in the Keyboards category until all device names have been uninstalled.
Restart the notebook. Right-click Start (), select Shut down or sign out, then select Restart.
Wait for the computer to restart and open Windows.

Turn off the Sticky Keys feature on your Windows.

The Sticky Keys feature, besides, Toggle Keys and Filter Keys, make your keyboard easier to type. However, sometimes they make trouble. Your Shift key stops working is the one. So make sure these features are not turned on.

Follow these:

1) On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and I (at the same time) to invoke the Settings window.

2) Click Ease of Access.
3) Select Keyboard on the left pane. Then make sure the status of Sticky Keys, Toggle Keys and Filter Keys are all set to Off. If there is anyone set to On, switch it to Off instead.
4) Press the Shift key on your keyboard to see if it work.

Let me know if this helps!

Have a blessed day ahead! 🙂
