It started with me getting a black screen and I got an error about the bios. I researched and did the HP things to put a new bios on a thumb drive. Started up the laptop and it worked.... briefly. Now I'm getting :
Hard drive/SSD drive short DST check Failed and,
The smart hard disk has detected an imminent failure.

I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue. The failure ID indicates that the hard drive has failed.
