Hello,
I've been having issues with my Thunderbolt 3 Dock on the ZBook Studio G3 ever since I received it a few months ago and have tried to upgrade the firmware on the dock unsuccessfully:
- The Dock does not see my Ethernet cable (network connection says network cable unplugged), USB devices (no response from USB devices such as mouse, keyboard), audio devices (such as headset, speaker). Only the displays work correctly.
- When I connect the Ethernet cable, USB devices, audio device (headset) directly to my laptop the ZBook Studio G3, they all work correctly.
I tried to upgrade the dock firmware. I see this when check prerequisites:
- Synaptic DisplayPort Adapter, existing version: 3.12.006, new version: 3.12.006, status: up to date
- ConexantAudio, existing version: detection unavailable, new version:1.07, status: needs upgrade
- ASMedia ASM1074 Firmware, existing version: "blank", new version: 140415.03.00.00, status: error -4
- ASMedia ASM1074A Firmware, existing version: 131025.10.11.26, new version: 140415.03.00.00, status: up to date
- Intel Thunderbolt 3 Dock Firmware, existing version: 18.0.4.2.9, new version: 18.0.4.2.9, status: up to date
When I clicked on Update Firmware, the program runs for a couple of seconds and then comes back with the following error:
"End User HID Audio Device Firmware Update Utility has stopped working", with 2 options: 1. Check online for a solution and close the program, and 2. Close the program.
Please help.
Peter
