I am trying to connect a firewire 400 device to my OMEN HP 16.1 gaming laptop via Apple TB3 to TB2>Apple Thunderbolt to FireWire adapters.
However, after connecting the TB3 to TB2 adapter and starting the Thunderbolt application, no device is shown as connected. If I then try to plug in the Thunderbolt to FireWire adapter, I get a blue screen. Anybody have any tips on how to get this working?
The goal is to allow transfer of Digital Video tapes to disc (as .avi files). I can do this on my desktop which has a FireWire 400 port, but was hoping to get the same process operating on my laptop. Do I need to install extra drivers? All the drivers and windows 11 are updated with the latest versions but it is not working. What is the next step?
