Hi Community,
after an update with HP Support Assistant (Intel Thunderbolt 3 Secure Connect (sp133131) i lost my video signal on my HP P34hc Display with USB-C Connection. After that i wanted install new firmware, but the Thunderbolt device controller couldnt be found and i only get the firmware version 0.0.0.0.0
The video signal with DP on the Thunderbolt Dock will works fine.
What could be the problem with USB-C video signal? Is is the Thunderbolt device controller?
Thanks for help!

Hello
your at the second person reporting the same issue with Thunderbolt Dock G2 and Zbook 15 G5. that's strange.
so I kept a 830 G5, There was an old Thunderbolt Secure Connect software. with it Thunderebolt firmware upgrade is able to read the current Thunderbolt Control Version.
so I installed latest Thunderbolt Secure Connect sp1331131.
After that installation Thunderebolt firmware upgrade fails like in your case.
so the owrkarounf should be go back to previous version of Thunderbolt Secure Connect software..
search previous verion at Revision History on this page:
I was using https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp94501-95000/sp94596.exe before to install latest version.
bye

So I have now done all the steps. The Thunderbolt Controller now has firmware again and everything is up to date. Still i dont get a video signal.
Now i tried to connect the USB-C Thunderbolt cable directly form the P34hc to my 2 devices (ZBook 15 G5 + EB840G5). Keyboard and cam still working fine. But there is no video signal!
So it is not due to the Thunderbolt Dock G2! The video signal dont comes through.

Before the Intel Thunderbolt Secure Update i connected P34hc only with USC-Cable to Thunderbolt Dock 230W G2 and it works fine. Now it works only with USC-C Cable for Keyboard and Cam and DP for video signal.

Hello
did you uninstalled latest version of Thunderbolt Secure Connect and reinstalled a previous version ?
I used an 830 G5 + TB Dock G2. Then I connected 2 4K displays , both are connected via USB-C connector available on the rear of TB Dock G2. Internal LCD and the 2 external monitors are configured as extended Desktop. The 4K monitors have 3840x1920 resolution , the internal LCD 1920x1080.
So everything works as expected.
Thunderbolt Secure Connect currently installed in my notebook is still the old version.as I just used HP Sure Recover to reinstall Windows 10, and the OS version is 1903.
OS will be updated to 20H2 when Windows Update will do it
bye
