The specs of your machine is

          https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c07593837

It ONLY has a hopeless SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which is NOT a  Thunderbolt™ 4 port nor proper USB-C. It is NOT compatible with any USB-C docks,

Regards.

Hi guys,

Superspeed USB Type-C will work fine with (older) docks that do not require DisplayPort Alt Mode.

They will require the DisplayLink driver for video output and the video performance won't be good, but they exist*.

The OP could just go for USB-A docks as well, they are equal to the USB-C performance in this particular laptop, and since DP Alt Mode or anything else has been implemented into USB-A, they are 100% compatible - just make sure they are USB 3.0 devices, not the older USB 2.0 devices. With USB-C docks you may have to read the small print/specifications to ensure their compatibility with basic USB-C ports. (5/10Gbps speed, DP Alt Mode, PD)

*these are not current models, availability may be poor:

HP USB-C Universal Doc, p/n: 1MK33ET

HP USB Type -C Travel Doc, p/n: T0K29AA

A good starting point for laptops without Thunderbolt and DP Alt Mode USB docks is the DisplayLink selector page. I still recommend reading the specifications and fine print when considerin the dock. HP laptops can use docks from 3rd parties as well, the dock does not have to be from HP.
