I am trying to update the firmware.  I get this error.  I have tried everything I can find.  I have the most upto date bios and drivers.  My Thunderbolt is version 4 and the dock is version 3.  Can this be the issue?  I am using the dock with the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 gen 9 running windows 10 pro.  Any thoughts before I return the docking station? Screen shotScreen shotrying to update the firmware for the Thunderbolt G2.

My answer: the dock is NOT compatible with your Lenovo machine. It is compatible with following machines:

Many HP machines are not compatible with the dock too.

Thanks.  But the documentation states :"OS and systems compatibility: The HP Thunderbolt Dock G2 is designed to USB Type-CTM / ThunderboltTM Industry specs and will support charging and port replication for notebooks that have implemented USB-CTM and ThunderboltTM industry specifications."  They should probably change it to let everyone know it only works with HP Notebooks.  The unit works you just cant update the firmware.

Thanks but, I still get the same error that it cant determine controller firmware and therefore cant update the firmware
