I recently received a ZBook 15 G3 with the ZBook dock. After installing Ubuntu 16.04 the dock didn't work at all, it only powered the laptop. I changed the BIOS security configuration for the Thunderbolt port (under Advanced, Ports) and was able to get an external disply working.
However, the USB ports on the dock are still not working, the audio jack isn't working and the ethernet port isn't working. When connecting a cable to the ethernet port on the dock the laptop will show that it's connected but there still isn't any internet connection.
I will appreciate any help as right now the dock is pretty much unusable.

Peripherals on Thunderbolt docks are not yet fully supported under Linux:
