I have been trying to use the thunderbolt port on my laptop to charge it with a powerbank.
This however doesn't seem to work, the powerbank seems to work fine for other devices but not for this one and the laptop can charge other devices but cannot be charged through this port itself. Since it's a thunderbolt 3 port and even has an electricity mark next to it indicating it can be charged through there it should work but it doesn't. I have tried updating the BIOS and installing drivers but nothing seems to work if anyone knows a fix that might work please let me know.

Your notebook has the following ports per the specifications. A Thunderbolt port is not among them. You appear to have mistaken a USB 3/1 type-c port for thunderbolt. The lightening bolt symbol means that it can provide power, not that it can be charged by a power bank.
From the specifications:
1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, DP1.2, HP Sleep and Charge); 3 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (1 HP Sleep and Charge); 1 HDMI; 1 RJ-45; 1 headphone/microphone combo; 1 microphone-in
"HP Sleep and Charge" means that the notebook can charge a device wile it is in sleep mode.

Unfortunately, the power adapter plugged onto the household main outlet is the only way.
