I just installed fully new Windows 10 on my HP Victus 16 laptop and found out that the touchpad is not working any more. I've already downloaded all the hardware drivers from the official website, it made no effect. What can I do?

@meyvofan, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand your HP Victus 16 touchpad stopped working after a clean Windows 10 installation. Since you've already installed the drivers from the official HP website, let's go through a few more steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Check Touchpad Enable Settings
- Press Windows + I to open Settings.
- Go to Devices > Touchpad.
- Ensure the Touchpad toggle is turned ON.
- If the option is missing, it may indicate a driver issue.
Perform a Hard Reset
This clears temporary memory and can help detect hardware again:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Unplug the power adapter.
- Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power and turn the laptop back on.
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
- Turn off the laptop.
- Turn it back on and immediately press Esc repeatedly.
- Press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
- Select Component Tests > Mouse/Touchpad and run the test.
This will help determine if the touchpad hardware is being detected.
Install Synaptics or Precision Touchpad Driver Manually
Sometimes the generic Windows driver doesn't work well. Try:
- Go to the HP Support Page and enter your exact model number.
- Download and install the Synaptics, Elan, or Precision Touchpad driver listed under Mouse, Keyboard, and Input Devices.
- Restart your laptop after installation.
Check Device Manager
- Press Windows + X > Device Manager.
- Expand Human Interface Devices or Mice and other pointing devices.
- If you see a yellow warning icon or "Unknown Device", right-click and choose Update driver > Search automatically.
- If the touchpad is missing entirely, click View > Show hidden devices.
Update BIOS (Optional but Recommended)
An outdated BIOS can sometimes cause hardware detection issues.
- Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
- Enter your product name and download the latest BIOS update.
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
