When I opened my laptop one day, my top left corner started to pop out. It is the one by the charging port, and since it's popping out I can't charge my laptop. My warranty expired, and HP charges way too much to get it fixed.
Edit: I see that a lot of other people also have a similar type of problem. Also, just yesterday my right hinge broke. I just don't understand how this laptop breaks so easily. Most of time it's just on my table, sitting there.

I have the same exact problem(the top left corner near the charging port is popping out) it is showing its charging but it's actually not also I noticed that next to the charging its showing a white light instead of a orange light which also leads me to believe there's a problem

my palm rest is cracked on the left side by the charging port, and the right side now also pops open by the cd bay.
This looks to be a common issue for HP laptops. this rig is only 2 years old and of course out of warranty..
A new palm rest is about 150 to 200 bucks plus labor..... have a grand in this rig already....

Just an idea, but similar issues were encountered at my business location and it turned out that the batteries were swelling and needed replacement. The swelling affected the lid and all sorts of other problems.

I bought a new rear cover and put it on. The issue is the brass inserts have come loose and some of the plastic is broken.
Sent a message to HP since the PC has warranty until today.4/14/2020 but have yet to hear a word,
