Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,
So I was using windows 11 on my laptop. The touch was perfectly working fine. I decided to do a fresh install of windows. After the new windows booted up I installed all the new updates from HP support website including the new Bios driver. Suddenly the touch stopped working. I thought it was a driver issue but the touch stopped working in Bios too. So, just to clear up my mind I reinstalled the windows but the touch wasn't working. If there was an issue with the windows or the touch driver how come it stopped working in Bios. Device manager in windows shows I2C HID Device error (code 10) meaning a hardware issue with touchpad and touchscreen but the touchpad is working fine only the touchscreen is not working. I was using bios version F.35 and updated to F.40. All the problem started after I had updated the bios. Now I tried to rollback to previous bios but it wont let me. says "Unable to open bios signature file". Please help me

Thank you.

Hi@TH3xTr3MiST,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing touchscreen issues with the HP Pavilion X360 Notebook.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Try updating the touchpad driver.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
  • You can do Reset PC Keep my files from windows and check if it works

For any hardware issue or repair please click on the link Phone Assist Worldwide

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I have already done everything you mentioned. Still the touch is not working. Even in bios. I want to rollback to old bios but its locked by HP.

Hi@TH3xTr3MiST,

Thank you for responding, I appreciate your time and effort.

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Click here for the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10) link.

Try Update the BIOS manually from a USB Flash drive (outside of Windows). You should be able to download the version you need from HP and sync the BIOS using the outlined process.

Already tried that. It does not install. just gives this error "Unable to open bios signature file". I even downloaded the bios and installed it again (latest available on HP site version F.40) still the touch is not working. Now I think the only way left for me is to de-sold the Bios IC from the motherboard and flash the old bios (F.35) using a programmer flasher. That way I hope my touch will start working again.
