Hi,
Prologue: The power button ceased to work, so a top cover replacement was necessary. An accepted service request was later cancelled by HP due to that the model is no longer serviced by HP. The top cover spare part nubler was found - 686316-001 - and it was possible to order.
Own action: Using the service manual to replace the top cover (no specific section that addresses "change to cover", but how to reach a step stating that the top cover can be removed).
Present state: Everything is working as expected EXCEPT that the touchpad buttons has no effect.
Actions taken: A couple of versions of the driver (taken from the infoirmation page for the model) has been tried without any success to have the buttons working again.
The machine still runs the Windows 7 Proffessional.
Any idea how to get the buttons working again?
