HP ZBook 15 G6 Mobile Workstation

Hey Everyone!

I'm experiencing an issue with the touchpad on my HP ZBook 15 G6 (not the 15u model) after upgrading to Windows 11. The touchpad gestures, such as two-finger scrolling, pinch-to-zoom, and three-finger swipe, are not functioning as expected. I've tried updating to the latest touchpad drivers from both HP's support assitant & site and Windows Update, but the issue persists.

Here are the specific details of the problem:

  1. Driver Issue: After updating, the touchpad driver shows "Alps Alpine" in Device Manager.
  2. Hardware ID Not Supported: When I Click to "Alps Alpine.exe", it shows "hardware ID not supported".
  3. No Gestures Available: Basic touch functionality (like cursor movement and single clicks) works, but advanced gestures like two-finger scrolling or pinch-to-zoom do not.

Troubleshooting Attempts So Far:

  • Updated to the latest touchpad driver available on HP's Driver support website & assitant.
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled the touchpad driver.
  • Checked for Windows updates and installed any pending updates.

Despite all these efforts, the issue remains unresolved. The touchpad works fine for basic operations, but the gestures that are crucial for productivity are not functioning.

I would greatly appreciate any guidance or suggestions on resolving this issue, especially if anyone has encountered a similar problem on the HP ZBook 15 G6 with Windows 11.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards,
Qasid
