HP 15-bw032wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was just doing things on my laptop, and out of the blue, my cursor spazzes out and closes every tab out and opening a bunch of random tabs like File Explorer, Google Chrome, and the Windows Start Menu. I tried using HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows, and every mouse test passed. I disabled my touch screen temporarily, and my cursor still spazzes out. I tried reinstalling the driver, but that didn't work. May someone please help me?

@Jacob_-_,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your concern and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that the cursor moves on its own and it clicks randomly.

I’d love to help!

I would like to inform you that this issue usually occurs when there is a virus or a malware on your computer.

I recommend you to run a full scan on your computer and make sure there are no virus or malware. For malware, you can also use malware bite and run that on your computer.

If the issue persists, then follow the steps in the below article.

go to the device manager (right click start then device manager), then click on Mice and other pointing devices to expand it

right click synaptics SMBus Touchpad and then select update driver, then select search automatically

See if there is a newer driver than what you have installed.  I have version 19.5.35.15
