Product: HP ENVY x360 Convertible Laptop PC 13-bd1000 RCTO Base Model

If I use my touchpad hard, like moving the cursor very fast with tap-selections, on occassion, the touchpad becomes unresponsive, and the cursor-sprite disappears. I can plug in a USB mouse to regain control, but thus far, the only way to regain control of the touchpad is to hard-power-off and power-on the laptop by pushing and holding the power button for 5-10 seconds A simple restart or even a software shutdown and power-button on won't restore the touchpad. Makes me believe something at the firmware level is hinky.  HP Support Assistant says my laptop is fully up to date.
