I recently purchased a 15-ee1093cl from Costco.
Link here for specs.
I am having a terrible experience with the touchpad of this laptop. All my laptops have been HP, and this is the first HP laptop where the touchpad has been terrible. I've had it for about a month now, and it's not an issue of me getting used to the new touchpad.
The left click is always missing clicks, and I have to absolutely touch the bottom left corner to get it to activate. Unlike my previous HP touchpads where I could click on the left side, but anywhere above the bottom left corner. All my previous laptops had a larger area of coverage for both right, and left clicks on the touchpad. This laptop however requires me to literally click the absolute corner of each side to get it work anywhere close to consistently. I've used a touchpad for over 15 years, and adding a mouse is not acceptable.
Is there a way to make the clickable area larger? I've tried different drivers, and nothing seems to improve the experience. I can't imagine the touchpad to be defective. I am on Windows 10 Pro btw.
All other functions work fine like 2 finger scrolling, speed of the cursor, and tapping of the finger to act as a click. However I use to both, using the tap of the finger, or the left bottom click to make a selection.
Any advice please? Is the touchpad on this device just terrible or anyway to make it work more better?
