Hi! I have an issue with my laptop's touchpad. After the windows 11 update sometimes my touchpad works and sometimes not. If I access device manager, and I2C HID device properties it says:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
A request for the HID descriptor failed.
If I go to the details and I choose as property problem code it says: 0000000A, and at problem status:
STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE
C000009E
If I try to update the driver it says the best driver for your device is already installed, and I have no windows update available as well.
Please help me solve this problem. What should I do in this situation?

Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that you are getting issues with the touchpad, I am glad to assist you.
Update the Bios, chipset, and drivers using HP Support Assistant.
Download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: Click here
- HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
- Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
- Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
- Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
- Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
- Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Also, ensure Windows is up to date.
- Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available
Let me know how it goes.
To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.
Cheers.

Thank you for your answer, i did try to updade the drivers as you said, but HPSA said that my drivers were up to date. But i might have something new to tell you, the touchpad it's not working only when i start the pc. So i go to the device manager, i disable I2C device then enable it and it starts working properly. There are cases when this is not enough to make it work. Then i right click on I2C device and then update driver, most of the time windows has a new security update. After installing that touchpad sarts working if i disable and enable it again.
