The touchpad on the left side is pushed in too far and is not clicking when i push it. I took the laptop apart, pressed the touchpad back in fully, put the laptop back together, and it pushed in too far again. Do I need to buy a new touchpad to fix this issue?

Since you have already tried most of the troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue, this sounds like hardware related issue with touchpad.
