My Synaptics Touchpad appears to have died. It's been erratic for weeks and I've tried updating the driver etc. Now it's vanished from device manager and I've gone into hiddnendevices and have got an error code 24 . I wonder is it possible to replace the touchpad on this particular model?
Thank you. Any help would be appreciated.

It is replaceable, post your Model number from the bottom label and we can get you the service manual. It will have the part number and detailed instructions on how to replace the touchpad.

That seems to be a RealTek model for a wifi card. Most of the time, there's a product label on the bottom cover. Or check here for info finding the model number- https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108
