SPECTRE X360 13-AW0013DX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought this laptop yesterday and using the two finger touchpad scroll is really slow. Every time I swipe down, it's literally like doing a two click increment on an external mouse.

Even when I swipe down fast. It does the same thing. I tried to change it in the mouse settings, but I couldn't find how to do it. Please help.

@TacoRon Fortunately, this issue is really easy to fix in Windows 10.

Open the Start Menu, type mouse, and select the option that opens the Mouse & Touchpad Settings. You could get to the same place by opening Settings and navigating through it all, but this is faster and easier.

In the Mouse & Touchpad Settings, scroll all the way to the bottom and click on the link labeled Additional Mouse Options. This opens a window that you might be familiar with from previous versions of Windows.

windows-10-mouse-scroll-number

Go to the Wheel tab and change the number under Vertical Scrolling. A lower number is slower scrolling while a higher number is faster scrolling. I like mine at 3, which is the default, but feel free to set it to whatever you prefer.

Hi Riddle, thanks for the instructions, but it didn't help. That just made my mouse scroll faster, but not my touchpad. I also don't see any Synaptics / Elan tab like the one you showed on the pic.

@TacoRon Alright, we need to first get the tab back, here's what you need to do:

Here are a few steps that should help get the missing synaptics tab back:

Step 1: Go to Device Manager > Mice and other pointing devices. Right-click on the Synaptics option and go to Properties.

Synpatics Touchpad Tab Settings Missing 17

Step 2: Go to the Driver tab and note down the Driver Version (19.5.10.75 for my laptop).

Synpatics Touchpad Tab Settings Missing 12A

Step 3: Click on Update Driver.

Synpatics Touchpad Tab Settings Missing 13

Step 4: Click on ‘Browse my computer for driver software.

Step 5: Click on ‘Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.’

Step 6: Now select a version less than the one that you noted above. In my case, it is 19.5.10.69 version. Click Next and you will be asked to restart the PC.

Once you log in again, open Control Panel and go to Mouse settings. The Synaptics tab will be happily sitting there. Click it to modify TouchPad/ClickPad settings and you can make the necessary changes.

If none of the methods mentioned above bring back the Synaptics tab, install Synaptics app from the Microsoft store. Once installed, launch it and you will be able to modify its settings.

Keep me posted,

If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.

Thanks, but neither solution helped. The driver is up to date and it shows the Synaptics App is already installed.

Anything else I can do? I would really like to two finger stroll more easily and efficiently. Thanks again.

@TacoRon please uninstall the app, restart the computer, and then reinstall it, so it begins to work, as ideally, if the app is installed it should show up as a tab on the driver page, please try the steps and let me know how that goes.

Good luck.

Do you mean unistall SynMsiDApp? If so, I can't find a way to do that in the MS store. The only choice I have is to install.

@TacoRon You may want to uninstall it from the programs and features, if that doesn't work, create a new user account and check if that helps!

keep me posted.
